Bio

(for portfolios and cv go to the "documents" section. here is the non-ai story of my life)

I came from Kyiv, Ukraine, and for many years I stay in Kraków, Poland - closer to the mountains.

I started with art pretty early, as my parents are artists, so I used to spoil their friends' paintings with contrast colours as a toddler. That's how I discover the beauty of noises, and I still keep it that way.

I started playing piano at the age of 6, and then continued my educational journey in the music academies of Kyiv, Katowice, Kraków, ana Milano.

Since I don't remember my life without having my country in danger, I naturally stretch towards preservation of any sign of my identity (particularly through art), and learning different sides of "having the identity". Now, the thing that thrills me the most, is playing around with Ukrainian traditional music and free improv together, adding a pinch instant composing, experimental electronic music, and ambient, that I discovered while living in Italy.

That took me to different places - through preparing the special project for Jazzfest Berlin 2022, making a Green Tour in Ukraine with O.N.E Quartet (and many other cool things), going around Europe with my Ukraine-centric band Hilarious Disasters, to mind-blowing residencies, like OneBeat Fellowship in the Us or the Meeting Point in Denmark and Greece. I also teach a lot, and run my own quality-time magazine about improvised music called Meloport. I love to travel around both as musician and a journalist.

Other days I go to mountains, and count steps. My biggest is to make Ukraine independent and strong again. And travel to Latin America.
