Ukrainian Jazz Media / Introducing

Hello People,

I still don’t know if trying to switch to another social platform is the right decision, but it wouldn’t be human to not to try uncertain things. At the very least, it can be my diary.

I am here to talk about Ukrainian jazz media, which sound like another cutting-edge and niche topic to discuss, though it never had a chance to develop well in the past. Here is the crucial moment: the first article about Ukrainian jazz media appeared, that aimed to review all the most active Ukrainian media dedicated to improvised music. The author is Ian Patterson (All About Jazz) and I had an honour to give some guiding contribution to that decent journalistic act. My magazine, Meloport, is on the list as well. You can read it below:

Yes, it is not enormous. Yes, many of those platforms don’t exist anymore. But our uncertain and complicated history doesn’t take the existence away.

No matter how shuffled, chaotic, strange you are, you win if you don’t betray yourself, so that is what we try to do. Thank you, Ian!

Check out the content of my magazine Meloport. We write about improvised music in Europe and Ukraine, dropping something interesting from all around the world too. My album reviews are also available on the Europe Jazz Network website.
